Fats & Serving Size
Purpose: To provide current and future health and sports science professionals with a free, web-based, interactive tool to increase knowledge and self-efficacy in teaching patients about heart-healthy fats and recommended serving sizes of fats.
After viewing this video, you should be able to identify and understand the importance of consuming food sources of heart healthy fats (e.g., salmon and almonds) and their role in reducing the risk of heart disease. In addition, you should be able to identify which food sources contain high concentrations of less-healthy fats (trans fats) and understand the need to limit the intake of saturated fats.
